Frequently Asked QuestionsState Requirements QuestionsWhat are the Continuing Education requirements?Appraisal As outlined in Subsection 3408 of the Louisiana Real Estate Appraisers Law, during each two-year certification period and as a prerequisite for certification renewal, state licensed appraisers must complete thirty hours (30) of continuing education course work by December 31. Insurance Life/Health: Effective 4/1/2009 CE is due for all producers licensed in Life/Health on the last day of producer's month of birth in even years. The transition will begin on 4/1/2009 with Life/Health producers with May months of birth. Effective 4/1/2010 CE is due for all producers licensed in Property/Casualty on the last day of producer's month of birth in odd years. The transition will begin on 4/1/2010 with Property/Casualty producers with May months of birth. Appraisal A minimum of 7 hours of continuing education pertaining to Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP Update) must be completed each renewal period (2 years). Insurance Beginning with renewal dates in 2012: 3 hours Ethics P/C and F/C agents must complete 3 hours of approved instruction dedicated to flood insurance by first license renewal when continuing education is required Courses must cover the lines of insurance for which the producer is licensed. What is the cost of the course(s) and what methods of payment are accepted? The cost of each course is located in the course catalog. You may pay using all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express). What is your refund policy? Donaldson Educational Services appraisal students who purchase an online class may cancel within 30 days after the date of enrollment and if the course has not been completed. How do I get a username and password? What do I use it for? What should I do if I forget it? During the registration process, you select your own username and password. It should be something that you can easily remember. You will use the same username and password each time you log in to access your course(s). This information is entered in the returning students section on the home page of the website. If you forget your username and password, you can either email support@fastclass.com or call 1-866-455-3278. Can I take the course from various locations and computers? Our courses are set up for students to access their courses from any computer that is compatible. How does a course work? You take the course at your own pace and on your own time. You can take the course in small increments or all at once. If you exit out of the course, then log back in at a later time, you start back in the lesson that you had been taking. How long will it take me to complete a course? Each course has been approved for a specific number of hours. Depending on the pace you review the course, it may take you less or more time to complete the course. How long do I have access to the course? You have access to the course for up to six months from purchase (no extensions permitted). Can I use the course for review when I'm done? Yes. You can simply log into your account to access the course. Can I print any of the course material for future reference? No. The course is entirely online, so you are unable to print any course materials. Who do I contact if I have questions about the courses? USPAP courses are only compatible with Internet Explorer versions 7 or 8. Please make sure you are using the Internet Explorer browser when attempting to view the course. Course Completion QuestionsWhat is required to complete the course?Review and complete the online course content. Appraisal Pre-licensing If you are having your exam proctored at one of our locations, a Career Counselor will print out your certificate for you once you have passed the course exam. If you are taking the proctored exam at an off site location a certificate of completion will be mailed to you within 2 days after receipt of proctored form. How do I receive my course completion certificate? Print off a Certificate of Completion after completing the course. Submit a copy of this certificate along with your license renewal application. How do my hours get submitted for CE credit? Donaldson Educational will report your hours and you will also submit a copy of your certificate of completion with your license renewal application. System Requirements QuestionsDo I need to use a PC to take the online course? What if I have a Macintosh?Hondros Learning courses are developed to run on IBM PC Compatible Computers. While we currently do not support the Macintosh platform, we have knowledge of MAC users who have had success using Firefox as their browser. For additional support with the PC platform, please contact our Technical Support department at 1-866-455-3278. Can I take this course with the AOL browser? No, you cannot. We suggest that you use another browser while signed on with AOL. To do this, log in to AOL and minimize the program. While still connected to the internet, click on the START button in the lower left hand corner of your screen. Click PROGRAMS, then click INTERNET EXPLORER, the program icon will have a blue "e". Do I need to have sound on my computer to take these classes? While sound is a feature of our courses, it is not necessary for a customer to have sound in order to learn the course material or complete the course. All information played in audio is also displayed in text by the course player. What happens if I get disconnected from the Internet? If you get disconnected from the Internet, you will need to log back into your account. In this case, you will return to the beginning of the lesson you were working on. What happens if I have technical difficulties during the course?
